Capstone Project: There will be a 15-20 minutes in class presentation (include Q&A) for a group of two-three students in the second half of the semester. Not all students in the group are required to present. Your presentation will be recorded to share with your classmates. Each group should study an economic phenomenon (a) or economic policy(ies) effect using knowledge you learned from the class. The presentation should answer the following questions: 1) why it happened/ why government or organizations imply this policy (these policies)? 2) What is the detail of it? 3)Why it’s important/ why you are interested in? 4) Who/What will be affected and how 5) What is your opinion (Please use data, summary of statistics, and econometrics approach and results to support your opinion)? 6) Are there any suggestions or improvements? I would like to hear at least 10 minutes report on questions 5) and 6). Please submit your Stata code on your project with your essay. I will set up Piazza in class materials for you to register the group project at the beginning of the semester. Please email me immediately after you successfully register your group members’ names online. Each group should have a unique topic. If one topic has been picked up by a group, the other groups, who sign up later, cannot use the same topic. On your project due date, your group should immediately submit a pdf copy of 2000-2500 words essay with the presentation slides. The essay should summarize your presentation content (700 – 1000 words) and extend the discussion on question 5) and 6) using the knowledge you learned in this class. No late submission is acceptable.
