The Rationale and the Conceptual Framework should both be grounded specifically in the literature. While you may speculate about outcomes, every piece of these two sections should be supported by specific documentation.
Rationale (aprox 750 words*)—
Needs statement: State the problem clearly and concisely and how you hope to address it
Importance: Use literature to explain why this issue needs to be addressed now
Summarize relevant information—what work has been done to date
Objectives (develops more specificity from the Needs Statement)
Beneficiaries
Measurable markers of success
Long term impact
Conceptual framework (aprox 750 words*)—
Identify the different lenses that you will use to address this topic making sure to think integratively (example: psychology, education, environmental policy might work together to address depression rates in teens during extreme environmental events like hurricanes)
Use multiple sources that explain the philosophies of your approach, how they work together, and why they are an appropriate integration to tackle this problem
Define specific constructs you will be using (example: depression, extreme environmental events)
